We have a Risk Assessment specifically for COVID-19 in line with government guidelines, adapted regularly with any updates required.
Health and Safety Client Protocols, are sent out prior to appointments.
We have always used and will continue to use hospital grade cleaning products and tool disinfectants made by Mundo and have completed their Hygiene Training too.
Staff have FFP3 masks and CE certified visors, which we can choose to wear. If either the client or staff members have contagious symptoms of any virus, we will ask both parties to wear a mask. We have always worn gloves throughout treatments and had strict hand washing and sanitisation policies in place (we ensure these now last 20 seconds to meet COVID-19 guidelines).
We have a Bluair filtration system which removes 99.9% of viruses, this is on continuously during your appointment.
We have taken away all unnecessary items on display in the salon, many of the items are in drawers so we can still create those Swarovski crystal manicures but they are no longer on display. Removing soft furnishings, flowers, drinks, and a lot of the luxurious aesthetic items has made it feel and look more 'clinical' but this is for everyone's safety. As soon as it is safe to return to ‘normal’ we will.
We have invested heavily in a new Ravair Dust Extraction system, although this isn't usually required for a natural nail salon that hand files only, according to scientific research COVID-19 loves to travel on dust (hence why the protective screens are not recommended in salons by top scientists like Doug Schoon) we felt it necessary to take an extra precaution to protect your health and ours as much as possible.
Doug Schoon, Respected Scientist from the USA recently stated:
"Don't fool yourself into thinking all you need is one of those fancy plexiglass sneeze guards. That is NOT enough to protect you and your clients…You will quickly learn that plexiglass attracts dust like a magnet. SO if you use plexiglass you will need to use" source capture ventilation to control dust as well.
It is important to understand that Viruses and other Pathogens do not have "Wings" but they do have "Magic Carpets" -meaning they take rides on dust particles that fly them all around the room for everyone to inhale. Dusts can carry pathogens so if you don't control nail filings/dust you are NOT doing all you can to control potentially infectious pathogens".
